Making a Scene -Discussion and Photo

When creating my "Making a Scene" photo I began with thinking about the story I wanted to tell. I hoped my photo would discuss the idea of sonder, or the idea that we all lead complex lives. I utilized a feminist sense in the intentional planning stages, because women particularly housewives are perceived by many to live simplistic lives. When in reality they have a great deal of depth to their character with many aspects creating their personhood. I was inspired by Henrik Ibsen's "A Doll's House" a 19th century Norwegian play. As well as Cindy Sherman's work particularly the following piece:

    This women looks as if she is busy and the photographer is interrupting her schedule for the day. She also seems to have much more important things to be thinking about then having her picture taken. I aimed to emulate this in my photo "The Domesticated Witch" seen below:
