Photographers, artists and educators have been building the connection between auditory and their visual representation for years. Most primary education classrooms have an alphabet somewhere in the room which if often complimented with pictures that represent the letter sound.
Linguists who study the history of a language or, etymology consider how letters are formed, particularly in relation to the letters around them, be in when rehearsing the alphabet or having a conversation. Every person builds unique connects between letters, and their surrounding sounds, a lotting a significant amount of audible space for some and squishing others as close as possible in with their neighbours. This a visual representation of my Personal Etymological Alphabet.
